i think the mc was chosen for this mission simply because they would let their guard down around him. he looks wholly unintimidating and weak and incompetent at a first glance, while in reality he's one of the strongest knights in the kingdom and extremely over competent.

Caught by someone so powerful that entire knight brigades were wiped out by her magic before they even knew what was happening, mate. And even then he was ||< that close to breaking free on his own. Once they were aware of how she actually did what she did, too, he went in prepared to handle her, and succeeded.

literally everyone struggled against her. why are you singling out only the mc when even karen got captured and couldn't break free? you have some weird grudge against the mc or something?

Why would i have grudge against a fictional character? Just "extremely over competent" statement doesn't really apply in this instance imo.

I think it was more if Ena had continued and hurt Haru it would of caused her problems or a diplomatic incident.

My only thing is that since they picked up Haru, neither Zena nor Ena have shown any regard for diplomatic policy. Almost every action they've taken should've triggered a diplomatic incident so far. Like since before they even left the port with Karen.

Meanwhile Haru has never been so incompetent in battle. And he's assigned to be their temporary commander? Definitely feel like he's leading them on, personally...

Haru never likes to get serious. He says it feels like he loses himself. So unless the situation is really dire I doubt he would try for more than to keep from getting badly hurt and not hurting her.

While the girls have been rude, they haven't actually caused any harm. Beating Haru black and blue would be different.

getting captured by someone better than him or that has hax abilities that defy even plot armor does not make him any less competent. incase you forgot, haru is said to do almost all, if not all, of the paper work for his platoon and he finishes it all extraordinarily fast by himself. it's actually slower if anyone else tries to help him. he also does a shit ton more things behind the scenes. aside from a singular incident, he has indeed been extremely over competent, especially for someone in his military rank.

About Haru being a spy, don't forget that he can shapeshift. His strength in battle and paperwork is also worth a whole division of elite knights. He's also the least likely to desert or turncoat because of you know who.
