I'm guessing those thugs are the book thieves way back then? I wonder what this moment is supposed to signify exactly, a weakness of Ohhga's ability to notice stares?
The book seller makes it sound optimistic, even though chapters ago there's a problem about a novel being considered one step ahead too. -- I believe protests and lobbying from both sides happened, and the arc ends with some higher up kafnas (I think? I forgot who they are exactly) gathering to vote, the kafnas that wanted it to get banned wins the majority, but it's overturned because the top kafna can kinda just decide and announce whatever she wants.
I still don't understand why she's so confident about her signature and why he wanted it so bad. I thought in his previous appearance, he just sold her book and that's it.
Yeah it's rare, but the value he's putting on her signature is very high. Not just replacing a jewel but also getting the kid some books. It's the kind of thing you'll expect from an NPC named "Mitsuru's Number #1 fan", not her publisher at best and just one of the many people selling her book at worse.
