I think he realized what a Get Out of Jail Free card Mogami is and that she'd kind of suck the tension out of any crisis if she could just wave her goddess powers around. This is a very good point, but a threat so important that Mogami-sama has to be absent gives it very "final boss" kinda vibes. The specific time frame and deliberate restatement of it makes me think this may be the last obstacle before we get our fox wedding. Other than Goro's stubbornness, of course.
