More likely it's because there's hundreds of these stories, which means the AI model has plenty of material to train itself on.
But the simplicity and brevity definitely help because AI struggles to generate longer stories consistently. If the tech keeps developing, maybe it'll move on to 4-koma gag strips with passable humor, and then 300-chaper-long harem trash.
