This was such a great read. A really beautiful story with really beautiful art :qq:
I would've loved to know what happened in those 4 years, but oh well, some stories should be kept short :nyoron:

Thanks for not dropping this manhua and translating it 'till the end 🙏

While I would have liked it too, it would have stretch credibility quite a bit. The story, after all, was not about taking down some criminal organization, it was about how two women met in the most unlikely of the circumstances and saved each other.

Then again, writer/detective and her girlfriend taking down the criminals who hurt them in the past is a great premise for a story.

You'd love Opium, if you haven't read it already

This was charming and endearing in its own way. The plot execution may not have been very impressive, but it certainly wasn't handled so bad that it would leave a bitter taste. The art genuinely did the heavy lifting here, and it kept me captivated till the end. I am glad it was kept short enough to show all its strengths and not keep on dragging the manhua till it became a slog to follow.

Thanks a ton Nekonotemokaritai, Valkyrie Scan, and Zephyr Scans for finishing this series.

Thank you for this series! It was worth the wait to get quality work.

For anyone interested, here's my favorite recording of the song they reference, the Habanera from Bizet's Carmen, which was adapted from Sebastian Iradier's "El Arreglito ou la Promesse de mariage."

This arrangement for voice, piano, bass and drums is a little unorthodox, so perhaps not as period appropriate, but very sultry and powerful, sung by the incredible Jessye Norman (who I think Butterfly Dream would love). The jazzy chamber style of it fits the mood better than the standard operatic settings for this story imo.
