I can't believe that Susano'o kneeled to Kozumi's simping for his waifu. Kozumi ragequitting to the future is crazy. He really did look like an older Ozuno when he regenerated his head.

I mean why did Kozumi perform his offering only 30 years in the past. We've seen that sacred treasure easily bring people back to millions of years ago.

You've completely missed the point. Only sentient creatures create mantra. Kozumi planned to reduce all of Japan to mindless apes (not vegetables) so they would no longer befoul the gods with their bad mantra. It was a failure as long as there are humans who can create mantra in Japan. I think there's a major flaw in his plan though. Can the gods exist without anyone to remember them at all?
Thanks for explanation. I have more question. If not vegetables, why people lied down unconscious when Koizumi activated the spell ?

Considering it's brain bugs hatching inside and then violently extracting brain matter to jump out the ear, i think there's going to be more than a few cases of.....accidents.

Because he needed to recruit Azuma the monk prince, or rather needed his third eye to complete whatever he believed to change history. It seems to me he's simply experimenting with the outcomes, like how doctor Strange chooses which future to follow

I noticed that for the Volume 8 cover, the Primal Gods in Ancient Times text is now aligned to the centre of the book, not cut off at the top like all the previous ones (though the text still "continues" at the bottom like it's looping)

Since we've moved to the future (or Kozumi's present day) maybe it's to show we have reached the start of the loop?

Another thing to consider is he was his own master. He needed to push his younger self onto this path so that his future self would come to be.

It's interesting how one moment the oni dominate the story and are elevated to a point where kami can't even talk about their secrets and in the next no one even mentions them. However I can't help but suspect that they were not affected by the bugs since they are not humans. Yet at the same time they have a certain influence that is by some mechanism superior to the kami that makes me wonder if this whole idea of the presentation won't always fail even if perfectly executed.
