Well, I personally choose raincoat because you can't hold your umbrella while riding a motorcycle at the same time. Besides that, raincoat can be folded and put inside the motorcycle's luggage.

I like both, raincoat for bike/motorbike riding, and umbrella for walking.
Walking in the rain with an umbrella has a good feeling.

If it's just for walking then I'll go with umbrella, raincoat is annoying to fold and wear (especially when they're wet)
