Is it the first time in any official Touhou manga / litterature where it's explicitely stated that a youkai was hurt to the brink of disappearing? Because I don't remember any instance. Of course, like always, it'll end up in a nothingburger but still a first I think.

Dissapearing? That would break the concept of gensokyo. Quite interesting tbh but definetly just gonna get tossed to the side

When a youkai is forgotten, they disappear. Basically their version of death.

I don't remember the end of Forbidden Scrollery very well since it's been very long since I read it. The only thing that I remember is Kosuzu almost becoming a youkai but was saved from being so.

You know, ZUN, if it's just "Mizuchi was faking it", then you should just stop writing this manga. Because such LAZY writing will just harm your portfolio and your other ongoing manga is way better.

It’d be a shame if that’s the case because we finally have a Touhou manga with action rather than every fight being off-screen, plus a lot of characters who haven’t been touched on in years got to make an appearance

Mizuchi #1 can't be faking it since Satori already scanned her and came up clean, though she did keep mum about what she was doing during Kyoko's possession during Miko's "trial".

Speaking of, one thing that's been sticking out to me is how invested Miko is in what's going on. She seems weirdly invested in what's happening even though the danger already passed her domain. I might be reading too much into it but she's coming across as disappointed in how passive Mizuchi #1 is being.

It would be interesting if there's some Machiavellian plot to this arc.
