It's funny and interesting that the Hakurei shrine maidens have always kinda sucked at actually running the shrine.
Also that afterword really goes to show that the rumors that ZUN just lets the artist do whatever they want for the official manga are a load of crap. The only things we know aren't ZUN's doing are some minor aesthetic elements from Silent Sinner in Blue, namely the presence of both Lily White and "Lily Black" at Remillia's party and Toyohime's weapon looking like a fan, which was due to a miscommunication between ZUN and the artist.
The Touhou manga are all unquestionably 100% canon.
