You know the artist genuinely making an effort to create a manga if even the background characters have distinct designs. Doesn't matter if it's similar to other series or it's gonna disappear at later story, designing particular characters are already hard. And great choice of choreography for the flow of battle. I hope this author and the artist have more success as manga creator

So the weakest boy is actually the strongest in disguise due to some hidden skill that makes him grow his skills fast. Hm.

My guess is that it's directly related to his mental state. The growth he got here was essentially all of the backed up strength from all his prior efforts that were blocked by his trauma from her. With him beating her into the dirt that block is gone
