They had any friendship before? they just briefly met on the road... I guess the manhua just skip stuff from what ever not this is from. I like it these early chapters in these kinds of stories can be a slog many of the times.

@altereggo Well, they met on the road, Wei Jian helped him and then he helped them get that tiny frog (tho it wasn't shown, just told) and that's about it. It's not like he was the best of friends, but he was an acquaintance of sorts. Well, I'm hoping he'll kill Ma Yi, reality is harsh.

@darkmaster006 They were friends more than mere acquaintance...more like starting on the path to becoming quick friends...but then that BS had to happen.
