Okay, but what happened to Maria Sakaki? Why are they just basically completely ignored in the two-years-later scenes outside of a brief mention that Sakiki's apparently not allowed to meet with them?

Like, they're life wasn't that great before, so I feel like they'd probably be able to get over no longer being "Maria Lee" decently quickly, but the fact that they went from being a girl to a boy is still something they'd have to adjust to. Like, which are they living as right now? And they just went out in public posing as Sakiki, so surely they wouldn't be able to just get on with a normal life like this?

I dunno, it just feels like the story of what happened afterwards with them would have been pretty interesting. (Maybe more interesting than everything else in the story, even.)
