I give this manga a 6/10. There really is no context at all if you haven't watched the anime. The anime does a way better job showing and explaining what's going on in the scene. You gotta read the manga if you are interested in Trigun, since the Anime has it's own canon and all. Although its still a great read for western fans.

Really picks up in the last half. the anime did a great job with the beginning, compared to this. Looking forward to reading Maximum though!

i used to be confused about why there was two because i only had those thicc dark horse versions. its just that they changed publishers in japan, wonder why they couldnt marklet maximum as just trigun in the US.

Anyways, not a good manga imo, but I'd read just about anything with Vash the Stampede in it so it suffices lol. I do admire the ending, though.

Vash is so lively and memorable that you really feel his absence when he just ups and disappears. If they drew out his reintroduction to Maximum a little more I imagine it would be close to the most euphoric thing ever

not only the action, but the text bubbles as well, at some points in the manga I didn’t know who was talking because the bubbles didn’t indicate who was talking most of the time 😭
