There's a reason this series is tagged "mystery". You're not supposed to understand who - or more accurately what - Selma is yet. She came to town, someone's husband died, and then she left. Note what she says to Ida - someone asked her to come to town to love Jack. What does that mean? You'll find out...

Her husband (former, now) said she did well on the last page, so their wedding was probably a play, hence why the easy divorce.

This is a 10/10 first chapter for me; it's really rare and quite incredible. Page 34's first illustration was breathtaking.
I'll be following this manga with much interest.

Not bad, can't say I'm fond of the art, but the story seemed to be there. Good luck to the scanlators on this one, thanks for the work and I hope people that read this enjoy it. I'm going to go find more trash to read instead of an actual story that looks interesting lol.
