Ngl, the existence of annoying lesbian combined with beta mc that never fight back trope makes me genuinely believe that most Japanese people (or manga reader at least) are masochists. Cause there are literally no redeeming qualities of said trope to like about. It’s not even treated like a character weakness either since other characters act like there is nothing wrong with said behavior and most of them never change. There are a lot of bad tropes but i can still see why some people could like most of them, but not this one, except if you literally like being on the receiving end

Yeah usually you have a character like that to act like a foil to the MC, to offset every other character dicksucking them constantly, but the better versions of that give some reason why they are antagonistic to the MC and slowly have them warm up to them as the story progresses.
This knight has nothing really going for her and is just acting like a cunt while flip flopping to acknowledging him within a few pages and goes right back to bitching in the next.
Well I guess we’re still only a few chapters in though.

I think it's fair to have a "rival" who doesn't believe in the mcs capabilities. Why write them like this though. It hurts.
