It is an L take, writing of this series is objectively NOT shit, also they did end up together, just not in obvious romantic way because authorn doesn't know how to write romance, plus it's the web novel, not the light novel which is still publishing (on hiatus though) or this manga which can still end differently, i read the web novel and the manga is already differ a ton in execution.
