I actually got chills reading the last page. This is the most exciting manga I've read in a long time.
Why isn't this serialized in the magazine?
Why wasn't this translated for years?
I'm mad at JP bros gatekeeping this manga for more than five years.

Also I'm glad the authority is finally cracking down the thugs, they had it good for way too long.

The last page was awesome! I didn't suspect a thing. I wonder if he's still going down with the ship

Also, re: the lack of popularity. I accidentally read this manga on another site that misuploaded it. But the crazy expressions hooked me! Honestly the tech/magic relationship alone is unique enough to keep me interested

I was thinking about the undercover guy for a while, and if he was killed yet, but didn't spend more thoughts. It was a pleasant surprise.

My take is because this manga charm have shifted, it is now interesting not because the MC part, it is more interesting to keep tab on the things happening, bad or not, as a result from MC known power and how good it is.

Majority of manga reader in japan have HERO MC syndrome, Frieren and Himmel shows a good example what kind of MC HERO are wanted by majority of reader there. Thus MC HERO in this manga is quite pathetic by that standard.

Frankly, I like the MC being like this and how the story developing.

I think this manga suffers because of the MC. He isn't really an interesting character and with the types of jokes he makes plus the art it isn't something great just average. The political intrigue and how the worlds itself is without the MC is so much more interesting which just shows with that last page.

Honestly found the undercover turn pretty interesting, he is the cause of them all getting on the kingdoms shit list and just found a great opportunity to finally get out of a terrible assignment.

clearly the drawings are rushed compared to his early work and old dojins since he has no assistant apparently, but the layout for each frame and the composition of those in the pages are really well done. JP fans call it 漫画が上手い = good manga skill. honestly many manga artist have terrible manga skill and people praise them for their "detailed" artstyle while a good manga artist like this guy is constantly underrated.

art doesnt mean anything when you are such a bad artist that cant even understand how to paneling, this artist clearly has skill on how to utilize them. Compared to other trash i read, this artist has done well in that regard. Art style doesnt mean shit, i could argue Oda has shit style but his paneling, the way he pace it and how deliver the formulaic shonen story cover it up.

you are right, most readers, not only in JP but internationally also has HERO MC syndrome, they cant fathom having mc that doesnt fit to their criteria of what MC supposed to be like. I've seen a lot of people who are like this, my thought was because they want the MC to be the best version of themselves so when they see MC like this, they find it not interesting. Simply because the mc dont act like how they wanted the MC to act.
