Does anyone else get the vibe that this is starting out in the middle of an ongoing story? Like, they casually drop "maybe you'll find out why your skill changed" in a way that makes it seem significant, but we never got an introduction or any backstory for the MC that would provide context for why that's so important. It feels like there was an intro chapter or two that wound up getting skipped in the publication.
