Why did a royal emissary go against his orders of only allowing dereto to handle the repair, and instead allowed a random no-name blacksmith's guild-master attempt a repair on the national-treasure sword?

At least the translation is readable this time. But why are we translating "blacksmith" as "silver craftsman"?

If I have to turn off my brain, why am I reading?

Last I checked, this wasn't one of those "Skill/Class/Jobs from birth" nor even an "Isekai" that establishes these leaps in logic with video game tropes.

If we're throwing out logic, the "Master Blacksmith" fired his apprentice/fellow disciple for not making sales/profit margins.

Amazing how idiots convince themselves in the most absurd ways.
I know it is months later, but the word you are looking for is narcissist.
an idiot would not think they are skilled despite never doing something, a narcissist would.
As well an idiot will accept they might be at fault, if even partially, but a narcissist will never admit they made a mistake, so it is all someone else's fault.
