It's a hook, a trick to make the readers stay interested and wait for the next chapter. Interest tend to drop at the end of an arc.

I get it, I personally just hate it as a narrative tool. Especially movies that start off showing future events, O I hate it so much.

The characters, story, and art are absolute peak and Tia is #1 elf on my list, no contest.

Honestly, the author could probably do a whole spin-off covering Tia's last 10 years, but here's to hoping they can keep up the good work for at least a couple volumes. I'd love to see it adapted by a competent studio in the near future. Fingers crossed on all counts...

When was her age given? Hmm... chapter 4 says "Over 100 years old." So 100 + 10 years looking for him + 10 years in failed world (if she remembers that), so she's "over 120". Meanwhile Ed is physically in his twenties, but spent 100 years touring worlds, so he's (mentally) in his 120's. So they could be about the same age. (But she might be older.)

Anyway, not a substantial age difference as far as we know.
