About MC's character, it looks like he was brought up as a proper noble, with a sense of noblesse oblige.
Unlike his brother. That guy is going to get their house ruined, assuming the kingdom doesn't self-destruct earlier.
Also, of course a noble is not going to be haggling with a merchant! That is such a commoner thing to do.
