@lolmaolol well it stated by Makoto himself that he see them not as 'followers' but more to family, thats why he didn't makes a move toward Tomoe and Mio even though they hella sexy and beautiful, he didn't see them as opposite sex, but more to a troublesome sisters. its understandable he can't get mad at them, moreover what they do is for his own good.

If Tomoe is the samurai, Mio is the alienrobotpirateninja, then Shiki(lich) is the advisor.
Being the weakest of the three(later four, yes he's still weakest) followers, he tends to more rational/practical and have better grasp of common sense compared to to the other two who mostly brute force things cos they can.
