Actually it is a very old tactic. Because life is unpredictable. So, eventually there will be hard times. Royals and commoners would gauge reactions all the time. Like farmers purposely making less crops to see what the kings reaction to the crisis. Because eventually there will be a famine or low harvest year. King would put subjects in position to test their loyalty. It's how people respond in emergencies or unpredictable outcomes where they show their true colors. It's very true for relationships too. Uh...this story made a weird leap, I can understand why she is asking to live with him, she doesn't want the demons around her at home to see the collar, but at the same time...no clothes or nothing?
Can't use her powers to get money or a job easily?
And the author is stil goign with the love letter misunderstanding and used Japan vague grammar to make it look liek MC was confessing.
But the weirdest part was the heroine personality flipping around so much, different from both the stoic persona as school and the easy to trigger demon.
