Noone in this manga seemed to be bothered that his dead wife kicked the child out of its own body, noone gave a shit. Now they're forced to confront that the child is still "alive" and that the dead wife stole a year out of its life and will continue stealing them if she comes back.

But it was explicitly stated by her that she still remembered being Marika, and that it was more like she regained her memories as Takae. So it's less stealing her body, more reincarnation. Marika was always Takae, she just didn't remember.

Even when we subtract Takae out, it still hurts to see Marika being scared not just of Takae's family, but also her own mother again.

And what makes it sadder is that Marika actually doesn't remember anything that happened in the last year - all the ways she reconciled with her mother, the move to a better place, or even their visit to the amusement park.

i'd expect her personalities to 'fuse' at one point, if notTakae 'moving on' because she sees her husband/kid doing well (tho be 4d chess if she was faking it to force the husband to move on lol)
