Damn, I feel bad for him.

It is like losing her twice but he has to move on.
Easier said than done
Lossing someone important really is hurtful and he basically loss her two time.
perhaps consult with Monk would help, or at least I've similar experience as I'm a Buddhist myself.
Good monk word can ease our mind, I would say those time calm my soul and enable me to move on.
Turning to one's faith is helpful. That said doesn't remove the spouse sized hole in one's existence. A good marriage, two people become inseparable, and if one leaves it's taking half the person away.

I would describe being a widower like being an amputee. Yes, one can learn to live life without part of themselves; however, it will never be the same, nor will one ever be whole again.

Yeah, I did read a story of elderly end up following their partner in a week time span or a lot of news regards tragic incident...that I couldn't imagine someone could have a will to live after what they've experience as It's extremely painful just by knowing someone have to suffer those incidents.
