Beautiful chapter. It's almost enough to make one forget what a selfish person Keisuke is turning out to be. Intense grief and fear of loss isn't an excuse to perpetuate the theft of a child's life and it looks like Takae is a good enough person to know that.

If lacking/losing the will to live triggers or enables the possession, does it mean that Marika got so messed up when she saw the marriage paper, causing Takae to repossess her?

I don't think she got "messed up" per se, but rather that it just triggered Takae to come back. There's also the possibility that she understood that someone else took over and she stood down to let them be happy (I doubt this one considering she's like 10)

Takae nooo.
Also, guys, imagine being a child. You lost consciousness for a moment. You love your mom, but your mom was abusive before, for a long time even. You blinked and now she's a good mom again. Something must have happened in the memory gap you had, but it's highly possible that it's a good thing. You came back, only to result in your beloved mother getting sick bedridden. Something in that memory gaps had fixed your mother and made her happier. Sensitive kid like Marika probably thought she didn't deserve it and inhalen some escapism.

And I think you've jumped to that conclusion, because we still don't really know what exactly Keisuke feels about the situation they're all in while he and Takae are yet to have a proper conversation about it.

Chika hoping a little for Marika to stay gone because she's afraid of abusing her again really got to me, damn.

This chapter hits home hard. Chika's character has been poignantly portrayed and developed. The heart-to-heart conversation between Takae and Chika gives me a sense of clarity and relief. This is a really, really good manga. And it might be the first of its kind too.
