An abusive yet neglectful family environment will never not feel suffocating, especially for a child. She is strong to feel more concern about her old family, even at the expense of her own self, but it's nice that she also realized the strength of this family she has been so concerned for.
Dad and Mai-chan will always greet Mom with open arms, and it's a sentiment that she can take comfort in at the moment. Things will... ugh... likely get worse with Marika's mother in the scene, but I'd like to think that Takae will have their support when it is crucial.
