The feels

Her mother is totally going to have got home unexpectedly and busted her after this. Can't have happy, fluffy stuff without mega angst in these sorts of stories

I can see the husband finding out the living situation for his wife and ending up committing a crime. Like, beating the shit out of her Mom.

Man... it's a bit short-sighted for me to say, but Mom's feelings toward her intended departure and how it morphed throughout the entire chapter was absurdly profound.

An abusive yet neglectful family environment will never not feel suffocating, especially for a child. She is strong to feel more concern about her old family, even at the expense of her own self, but it's nice that she also realized the strength of this family she has been so concerned for.

Dad and Mai-chan will always greet Mom with open arms, and it's a sentiment that she can take comfort in at the moment. Things will... ugh... likely get worse with Marika's mother in the scene, but I'd like to think that Takae will have their support when it is crucial.

Through life, death, time and rebirth, those two might as well be a warm home for Takae. Mom will always be Mom, after all..

This chapter is sacred. My tears said so 🍜🥹

p.s. That custody trial and adoption office is never too far away in this situation lmao
