Fuck, I literally cried. That's the first time from reading a manga in... what... several years?
I'm hugging my mom as soon as she gets home. I really want to now.
It'll always be left to interpretation whether or not Takae's mother actually saw through her form as Marika-chan.
Either obaa-chan said what's on her mind after seeing this cute energetic kid... or she honestly said those words to this Takae-looking child in reflection of how she lost her own daughter... or she saw right through her and these are her true sentiments after seeing her daughter back to being the adorable kid all those decades ago. It's just a matter of belief.
My headcanon's all for the latter, but whichever hits you the hardest right?
