Except consider the age gap. If Mai is in her 20s (chapter 1 says she's "on her way to her 30s" which seems to imply she's likely at least 25) then he's somewhere in his 40s (and probably in his mid 40s if Mai is >=25). Meanwhile Marika is an elementary school student which means she's no more than 12 and I'm fairly sure she's not supposed to be on the verge of middle school so she's more like maybe 10?

that means we're potentially looking at an age gap of at least 30 and probably closer to 35 years. If they wait for Marika to be 18 he's going to be into his 50s more than likely. Then he's gonna die and she'll likely be alone for 30 years or more.

Also a guy in his 50s marrying a teenager would still be creepy.

I don’t get it, I compare this situation to the Mushoku Tensei situation. If you reincarnate into a younger body your still the old age you were mentally so dating someone your new age is creepy (aka ruedeus) but if you reincarnate into a new body and date the same person you did before it’s also creepy (aka this story) I know reincarnation is fake and shit but it seems the general consensus is that if you reincarnate your fucked in terms of love because no matter what you do it’s creepy and wrong.

Im amazed with this manga, the art is totally different compared to other manga but the story is just so good to me that I cant even think about not finishing all of it. Its just right for some reason.

The point is that it’s weird because he still loves his wife romantically, even when she’s a literal child and he’s a middle aged man
