The two identical vertical tricolor flags in the background serve to remind me once again that manga characters probably have an absolute hell of a time telling the difference between France and Italy. Or is it Ireland? Or if the second from the left on the upper line is supposed to be Germany then the artist is rendering yellow as white, and Belgium and Romania are in the running.

The life of a manga vexillologist must be a difficult one.

Look, it's Tenma in the background! That means Tenma's going to be a recurring character, right? Right?
i mean the detective also in cover page back then. and consider mangaka let him missed saw her push the old guy off the train. But since he just at some edgy teenager phase, the boy better off not knowing all of this, would trauma him for life :ROFLMAO:

At least Peru had the good sense to add a coat of arms to the version of their flag that they fly at the UN to avoid exactly this situation.

Other potential contenders are Mali, Guinea, and Côte d'Ivoire. And Chad, but their flag is impossible to distinguish from Romania's even in color, so... actually, wait, Chad and Romania sometimes argue about their identical flags. Does this hiatus announcement imply that in the Spica-verse the UN spends all of its time settling flag disputes?

Just think how many problems could be avoided if everybody just adopted Nepalese flag design sensibilities.

That kinda makes me think. Maybe the reason why many manga are set in fictional countries is so that they can use more unique flag designs.
