Even if she gets him to remember what he did, what’s the point ? He already lived his full life, managed to see his grandkids grow up. At this point his family will get more hurt than himself, being related to a serial killer will be a great stigma for everyone else… I’m really curious about what she’ll do :thonk:
Thanks for the translation

Imma say Tsumugi lost this one. Man's senile, and barely remembers his evil. He's lived a full life with his children and grandchildren. Even if she DOES punish him, he already accomplished everything he wanted in life. Cajoling him to drive(I assume this will happen, like u\TheMode said) one more time to get him to do evil when he's at the end of his life is a rather hollow punishment.

Reminds me of a Babylon 5 episode.

For those who don't know, it's a science fiction show set in the 23rd century.
Telepaths exist and one of their uses is performing mind wipes on convicted murderers. They replace the murderous personality with one devoted to a life of public servant.
One of these reprogrammed individuals is a former serial killer living out a new life as a monk.
Family members of his victims track him down and one of them goes through with killing him.
That lone avenger has his mind wiped and takes the serial killer's place in the abbey.

It seems this manga trying not to stick to the first premise of "punishing" the bad people, the manga trying to explore different type and scenario that Spica will face instead. Like this old Gorou, it's the first time Spica unable to determine someone's past after touching them due to how messy his mind are so it also possible she will have a hard time to dig into Gorou's past murder, let alone dealing with a murderer that already became a different person.

I think it will be interesting doing this way, if the manga always doing the "punish" type of story then it may get boring soon.

Tbh I don’t think anythings gonna happens. Old man is senile and probably got like 5 years left in him at most. Whatever spica does is just gonna be worthless. Maybe she’ll just let it slide.

She better deliver his punishment before he completely loses his memory because then what's the point of punishing someone that doesn't even know what year he's in. Thanks for the translations.
Principle, kindness to former oppressors never goes down well in the long term. Now in the case vigilantism, not as much of a point since no crimes get brought to light to fulfill personal motives, if only there was a way to execute and bring to light the atrocity
