How did she track down the arsonist guy that fast?!
I guess I’m just supposed to suspend my disbelief in the manga logic here…
Given how there are a lot of scenes where there are 'paparazzi' harassing suspects and all that, i imagine even if she didn't read the detective's mind/question him, i wouldn't be surprised if it was easy to get access to if the case was published in the newspaper , versus it being a plot point of "he mysteriously disappeared soon after the case" which would make him look too obviously guilty or so

it'd be more unlikely for her to come across someone whose mind she couldn't read unless they also had powers but while it wouldn't be impossible/bad depending on how it's written, if too many ppl have supernatural powers i can imagine it getting convoluted

I guess the ex-detective being the culprit is still a possibility
Yeah think the ex detective is probably the one who did it. And those trophies are his victims. The Anita guy is just weird and a cheater. He also might know the detective is the killer and as the only witness the detective shut him up somehow but the detective is not willing to let him live or something.

I assume the store is a parody of dunkin donuts but wouldn't be surprised if there were some places with simple names like just 'donuts' (tho are the donuts bigger than average
If so, probably just the name. The decor and uniform is much closer to a Mister Donut, which is the most common chain in japan.

Furthermore, Dunkin doesn't even operate in Japan (as far as I'm aware):

A few Krispy Kremes do exist, but they are pretty rare especially compared to Mister Donut.

You can also compare the signs and uniforms for the obvious similarities:

Another fun fact, the "mochi donuts" were first popularized by Mister Donut.

I don't really know why I'm bothering to reply on this tbh. But before I knew it, this post ended up here.

P.S. Well, I guess I do hate Dunkin with a passion. imo, their doughnuts suck, and I hate that they've popularized "donut" as a term vs the traditional spelling of "doughnut".

ah, i see, looks nice, i wanna try one of those 'ring' donuts, i think i've seen something similar within some food court of a JP marketplace but they would only accept credit cards versus cash too bad (although usually at donut shops i tend to get the 'breakfast sandwiches' more so than the sweet options)

I like the androgynous? model or so lol with the heart donuts. I wonder if the pokemon stuff is related or just an ad to another store or so like how there's a ramen shop advertising next to it

I think the only 'upside' about dunkin is that they're one of the few that are open past noon (although i suppose if you really crave a donut you can just go to a grocery store since it's not like most just make them to order/are already done by the time you get there versus like a churro place), tho given how cheap a lot of donut shops are i imagine it's not their only job unless it's some older retirees running it as a hobby and not worrying about profits

Not super sure when that photo was taken, but they've definitely done Pokemon themed ones before:

Ehh ... imo, they're just alright. The texture is different from a regular doughnut b/c of the tapioca and or rice flour but not in a terrible way. Def give them a try if you can.

From my perspective, Dunkin never "won" the market b/c they had good (or even decent) doughnuts. They took over b/c of their coffee and other breakfast stuff ... and sold doughnuts on the side. They def don't make their doughnuts in house and it shows. It is just easier and more convenient to hit up a Dunkin for some coffee and grab something else for the morning vs going to a place that just does doughnuts and nothing else and then having to figure out the coffee at another spot. Heck, Dunkin ditched the "Donuts" part of their name themselves.

Well other than 'strict schools' not allowing jobs (assuming she's not bothering to show up anymore or going to show up in various diff schools in the future like Nanno if the next target is also a 'teacher'/someone related), i wouldn't think most ppl need a reason/motivation for wanting a job, even if some ppl wouldn't necessarily wanna get a job while still a minor/high school age and worrying about money (tho i guess "b/c i want money" wouldnt' be a legit answer in interviews or so versus a casual chat with a customer), although i wouldn't rly question why a teenager is working at a donut shop compared to like, her doing some super heavy lifting or so/a factory worker

I didn't mean that she needed an alibi for why she's there, its about giving herself a credible (but fake) backstory so that she can build a rapport with people she meets. She's obviously adept at social engineering due to her mind reading and probably thinks to pick a reason that makes her seem harmless and youthful so that this guy is more likely to open up to her and give her leads she can follow to a killer.

I'm not actually sure how much she can grab from someone's mind in one go, its possible she needs people to relax a bit or think about certain stuff in order for her to read it. It doesn't seem like she only gets the precise thing they were thinking of, but she does seem to want sustained contact to get more out of someone.

I like teh sugar twist donuts, they have them in a viet bakery or korean one, also some 'red bean' ones i don't mind red bean ice cream but other than heated up the red bean paste in those taste a bit too 'grainy' for my tastes prolly 'cause they don't put in whole red beans but otherwise it was alright. altho other than seeking out some 'unique' tastes or flavors that'd be more common in japan like a 'yuzu' donut for sweet/tart, i'd prolly rather have like one of those potato croquettes/something fried and salty/savory, be great if the 711s in the west also had like hot steamed nikuman and such too lol

lol yeah i guess ppl just buy whatever's available like ppl eating at mcdonalds tho it's def been infected with 'shrinkflation' and all of that, but other than some huge chain i'm sure there's lots of smaller 'rural' cities in Japan where there's like some street corner of a mom&pop or retired elderly gramps/grannies selling some homemade cooking/sweets and all

Good to know spica has bit of a normal life. Follows and supports an idol and a nice co worker friend, working part time. etc.
Now shes bonding with the detective too maybe he seems as an ally who is in the legal spectrum.
Lets see if detective spica uncovers the truth.
I am gonna guess the ex wife is the murderer who burnt the body so it cant be recognized.
