Ah, a mangaka after my own heart, I see.

Seriously though, you can overtrain your way into losing muscle, sure (not that she was thinking that by the looks of it), but what kind of high performance student athlete thinks that shrinking the muscles she uses to run well won't affect how she runs?

Thick Thighs = fat, not muscle, and even if it was muscle how would working out your legs MORE slim them down?

The author is an uncultured swine
low weight with high reps to tone the muscle

That's a whole lotta confident derision coming from someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.

Big muscles make your body look bigger. Big biceps and triceps will make your arms look bigger. Big quadriceps and hamstrings make your thighs look bigger. Fucking obviously.

Here's a photo of Julien Alfred, who won the 2024 Summer Olympics gold medal for the 100m Dash.

She clearly has a very low body fat percentage. Probably somewhere around 10% body fat, which is extremely low, for a woman.

She's very slim all over. Except for her thighs. Look at how thick her thighs are. That's all muscle.

To be fair, though, Rise doesn't have the body of a runner at all.

Rise clearly has an average level of body fat, and huge gazongas. Which for a high-level athlete, that's not realistically possible.

It takes an obscene amount of food to be extremely athletic and still maintain average body fat. You'd literally have to gorge yourself every day to do that.

Any high-level sprinter should have a build just like Julien: Long legs, very low body fat, and monstrously muscular thighs and glutes.

That's very much not true. It's an old wives' tale. A long-since debunked fitness myth.

But it is still very commonly believed in Japan.

There are a lot of old myths that Japanese people still believe. IE: The idea that getting cold and wet will make you sick.

it is true, my mom tried doing low reps with high weight for a week and ended up looking like Ronnie Coleman, big mistake

There's no such thing as muscle "tone."

Training your muscles will make your muscles grow bigger. It doesn't matter whether you do high-weight-low-reps training or low-weight-high-reps training. Training your muscles will make them bigger. That's just what muscles do.

Your mom just has a musculoskeletal structure that makes her muscles look really apparent. You probably inherited those genetic traits from her, so be happy that it's easy for you to look swole.

Yes, fucking obviously, so I don't know why you felt compelled to write a wall of text about something so obvious.

What's apparently not obvious is that when people say "thick thigs" they don't mean muscular thighs. They mean fat thighs. Or chubby thighs. Muscular thighs are called thunder thighs. These are not the same.

You're welcome to look up thick_thighs tag on your porn site of choice and see how many competitive runners you find.

It's a wall of photograph, actually. Finding a full body photo of Olympic athletes at a reasonable resolution is apparently quite difficult.

The text part of the post is quite concise. Each of those line breaks is its own point, because that's how concise writing works.

...That's what you meant? I hadn't even considered that you could have meant that.

Because, well, that's obviously not true, and I genuinely have no idea how you came to that conclusion.

"Thick thighs" mean—get this—thick thighs. Thighs that are thick. It's literally a self-descriptive term. The thighs can be muscular or fatty. It doesn't matter why the thighs are thick, it only matters that the thighs are thick.

Are you perhaps conflating the actual word "thick" with the slang term "thicc?"

Muscular thighs are called thunder thighs.

"Thunder thighs" explicitly refers to fatty thighs. That term was invented by teenage mean girls in the 80s, as a derogatory term to refer to girls with fatty thighs, because of how they wobble.

Referring to muscular thighs as "thunder thighs" doesn't even make any sense. The wobbly fat is the whole point of that term.

You're welcome to look up thick_thighs tag on your porn site of choice and see how many competitive runners you find.

First of all, that is an utterly bizarre argument to even make. You can't judge reality based on porn tags, my friend. Porn and reality aren't particularly fond of each other.

Second of all, the content of porn is based entirely on the desires of its consumers.

Most porn consumers are straight men, and most straight men prefer fatty thighs to muscular thighs. So yeah, no fucking duh any porn site will mostly have fatty thighs under its thick thighs tag.

That's just a business catering to its customers, not an indicator of how terms are defined.

Thirdly, you can actually find muscular thighs under the "thick thighs" tag of virtually any porn site. It's not as common as fatty thighs, but it's there.
