Yeah every time I see a series with a foreigner majn heroine I just expect a typical Japanese girl with blonde or platinum hair.

I eagerly await the christmas chapter where she talks about how the holiday season is for lovers and eating oranges under the kotatsu.

If I were the mc, I would have told that annoying childhood friend to mind her own fucking business and then act indifferntly towards her, no hate and no love, just indifference

Oooooh so close! Aino was forced to marry Väinämöinen because his brother had promised her to him as a wife, after losing a (magical) singing competition, and being spellbound to a swamp as a result. The mother was happy about it (Väinämöinen was a renowned hero, sorcerer and even a demigod, having one of those in the family is quite the honour!), but it wasn't the mother's doing originally.

And yeah that was perfectly normal Finnish, though it's "sinä", not "sina". Completely different letter.
Also 'Minä' ...

It's funny how at first there's whingeing among the probably not Nordic readers about the too fast pacing, and now about foreigners depicted as Japanese.
My reaction is mostly the opposite.
In the Nordics, Finns are seen as the straightest shooters, and if you ask the Finns the toughest ones, too.
So when there's talk of tsundere and fast pace, I just see a Finnish girl being direct and up front. And of course everyone isn't the same, but boy are some readers' reactions colored by their preconceptions (mine too, obviously).
That said, I was annoyed by the maiden in distress scene in the cafe. That's where a Finnish girl might have disposed of some non-sisu Japanese wannabe tough male babies.
But the mangaka wanted the trope, and all Finnish girls aren't tough all the time.

So, if his family decided on this engagement and the former fiancé/childhood friend is his cousin and part of the same family then why didn't they just get them back together at this point? The original engagement was thrown out because his parents divorced, but now they are using him again. Admittedly, I am guessing that they didn't do that because they think that the former fiancé doesn't like him anymore...so I guess she wouldn't be seen as a potential partner then?
I'm guessing it's because there was no longer any benefits for pairing them up.
Initially, they probably brought them together for sentimentality. Maybe the kids like each other, and the family head thought MC was worthy to become an heir.

But after the accident, his value as an heir dropped. But he still has their blood, so he's useful to be offered as the fiance for a business partner.

Btw the original engagement wasn't broken because of divorce. MC's mom is a member of the family. After his dad left, he lived with childhood friend/cousin/fiance.

Yay, a losing heroine that I don't care! I hope the rest of the harem are like that. =D
