Can't really tell from the translation, but when Arata bumps into someone in his home, he apologizes really formally, like he's talking to a stranger. It's kinda weird to speak like that with your own family

I have nothing to back this up, but there's something about his mom. like, what if she was the ghost above the electrical line?

Crack theory: the she who is behind Arata, that Hayami mentioned, is Hayami. As I've mentioned before, I believe Hayami has two souls inhabiting their body (the uncertainty regarding gender is due to this as well), and the Hayami that talks to Arata in this chapter is one of them, warning about the other one having been stalking Arata.

If I were Ushi Onna, I would give that an F

I’ve been wondering about that person for a while too. The one in the house I mean. I forgot about the pole but what you said makes me wonder…

One possible reason why Arata speaks formally to her could be that she is his stepmother, and he is not very close to her

Oh yeah, that's very possible.

I was initially wondering if his mom might be dead, as he appears to live alone.

I'll have to get another look at the shoes in the foyer

I kinda feel like the author and their love for European mythology just had Arata "Odin" himself, and that he might be "seeing" a lot more than he bargained for.
