Nah, to be honest, that whole convoluted mess of a relationship Kanda and Takase had (one year to basically confess) is e x a c t l y how I remember we had our first romantic experiences in my middle and high school years.
It was a very fun and endearing read - we followed the school life of quite energetic young kids that were very busy falling in love, trying to make sense of those feelings, attempting to understand others and be understood, experiencing their first romantic relationships. And as most actual teens do, they were constantly failing at all those activities, faking with variable intensity: from stumbling with words or using awkward facial expressions to committing cringe of a truly biblical scale.
My favorite character is probably Chiaki - some shit he does is SO silly and SO embarrassing, while being believable and probable (as for a generic teen), that I cannot help but laught and sympathies him. My dude is destined to awlays learn the HARD way
