Page 13: Good, exactly like I said. I'm glad we have an MC who actually knows what's up and spells it out for people.
It's really a shame, because she seems like a genuinely sweet girl. If only that blackmail line hadn't been tossed in at the end of the first chapter, this would be really cute. Maybe, with any luck, the author will have her reveal that she meant it as a joke, but also have her realize the heavy weight the joke actually carried and feel responsible for it. I know it's wishful thinking, but it could really save the series from being forever soured by one bad trope.
