Seen an end-game boss early on plenty of times. You're supposed to fight and proceed to be roflstomped; only to survive due to some contrieved reason. Now that you've been humbled and/or humiliated you can continue on you journey with a renewed sense of purpose.

Although given what we've seen already in the opening pages of chapter one, MC will probably bullshit out some ability with the sword and win this...

or if it's Tales of Zestiria you just wise up and retreat as it lets you do so, not like you can do much else since you can barely walk. 💀
