One moment he has the mind of a wise adult who knows exactly what to say to score points with Miyano, then the other he is a dense kid who cannot sense her obvious affection for him even though he is actively trying to get her to like him.

No they didn't and I didn't ask because the group they upload to for this series, komi-scan wa komyushou desu, says "The now defunct komi-scan wa komyushou desu." in their group description. But you're the second person to ask (another did on Reddit) so I'll ask them.

Usually authors just put padding: another side ship who we usually root for more than the main couple because they have faster progress in their relationship. Without that here, I can focus more on the sweet interactions of the main couple and feel less bad for the slow progress because there's no one to compare to.

I wonder if Komine remembers the alien's errand though

You might have forgotten since it has been so long, but Komine isn't exactly the most intelligent person around. He does have the significantly longer life experience than the other kids, but that's pretty much it. He was never a wise adult. He can say the right things, occasionally, because unlike little kids with immature emotions and personalities, he did live long enough to develop his own persona and had to make decisions for himself, as an adult. Adults aren't also held back in the same ways as little kids when dealing with the opposite gender (or older kids/adults). Many things that seem like huge deals in little kids' eyes, are meaningless for adults because they have much bigger worries in life. Right now Komine doesn't exactly have huge worries, but in his first life he had, and some of that adult worldview would remain.

Nevertheless, he's still stupid. Unlike a kid, he can call Miyano cute publicly, which would be a huge deal for a boy his apparent age, but still in the first chapters he went for it like an idiot calling Miyano cute nonstop every chance he got. It wasn't a big deal for him, but it was too big of a deal for Miyano.

Okay I checked the raws and found out the current chapter numbering/order follows the one on Pixiv. However in the volume release, chapters 54-56 were placed before chapters 52 and 53. However I don't think the chapter placement in the volume makes sense. I've read it in the order the volume puts it in and it makes a little less sense.

Okay here's what I asked the dogeroi, the scanlator:

Two people asked if you're going to continue scanlating "Love Comedy in New Game+". I assume it's a no because Komi Scans is defunct, but I wanted to double check.

He replied with:

Yeah. TL on vacation though. I have to find a new one

So I guess they will continue with it eventually.

This are one of the nicely made 4-page (can I call this 4-koma?) rom-coms out there.
Though when it introduced the alien premise, it kinda made things complicated. I originally thought that he is somehow still free, but the alien's request of him collecting idol merch, somehow is a limiting factor, like since he is not fully time-rewinded (only his mind), he might be suddenly pulled back to his real timeline if the alien thinks he already had enough merch. Anyway, we'll see if he really is affecting his original timeline (he might actually be just creating a new timeline/universe by the changes he is making)
