I hope they don't make the dad a "surprise" villain. It would feel far to obvious and also out of nowhere at this point. Currently I'd prefer it it just remained a reccuring gag, like the author forgot to establish or mention them adequately but without having set up that he died or left that he must still be around. But its strange that they set it up as though only Kail has that issues so obviously theres a set up for something that makes it feel not like its just a joke
Or even not as an enemy but some dues ex machina, either would feel unwarranted at this point without some particular set up and pay off rather than just being hard to perceive only for the main character.
