First couple of pages and I'm like, Seran is locked in! And then the offer threw me. I was like, mercy? Really? I guess, it makes some sense, those knights won't be able to catch up on foot with their wounded. And then he threw those explosion stones. Seran is going to be a good lancer to Kail being a hero.

No. As I understand it, Seran died holding back the horde that Kail couldn't have.

Either could have killed the Demon Lord, but Kail couldn't have bought the time necessary to do so.
