Maybe he retrieve that, and the not used chain, after the demon died(him walking away was just for "badass moment" effect) I doubt it would melt to begin with, it was already in the lava waiting to be used, beside in most fantasy stories you need magic and extremely high temperature to even begin to work on it! So let's hope he wasn't stupid enough to waste such valuable metal
