I doubt he would have good end if he live, but knowing that info, surely going for that bag is not the way to go?
On top of that, if it explodes on contact, punching it would surely be one of the more dangerous way to to ignite it(given the lack of time to escape). The only worse way would probably be to headbutt the bag.

Imagine wiping out an entire formation on lizardman with a single arrow. Or worse, end him tightly.
