I don’t get it. Did I miss anything? Weren’t the fat Karateka and Chinese guy good friends? Why are they so antagonistic toward each other in these recent chapters?

In case you missed several chapter brother, the Chinese guy is apparently an outlaw now, probably escaped the deportation. He ran the underground fighting club together with JB. JB made deal with Teru that if they win the club belong to Teru. Tsuyoshi no dif JB. Chinese guy butt in after that and challenged Teru to a fight. It was also because Teru was a friend that he knew Teru would agree to that deal. And now Teru no dif him, he accepted his loss and their underground club fully belong to Teru's group now.

In case you meant the sudden antagonistic feel, no no, it was a sparring session. Chinese guy got extreme finger skill, which is pretty lethal, it can't be helped that that is his technique. He is still friendly with Teru, and Teru is also enough of a meat head to not be bothered by his lethal technique, that he would not consider Chinese guy friend anymore. So yeah they are still friends, they just went through a lot during the timeskip.

Well, even if Teru's group is taking over now, at least it should feel nice that your new boss is a friend of yours, I guess. Tsuyoshi is supposed to be the leader but he ain't wanting that, so all our guys would be the officials running the club now.
