@Black_Beat Big nitpick time... Are you sure they call him Colonel? going off the rank insignia (shoulders)

he should be an O-10 General not and O-6 Colonel

then again when they do bring up the rank insignia they incorrectly look at his breast badges
the one on the left is this bad boy which would explain why he is part of US Forces Japan

and that badge on the right I can't find any source on but it absolutely isn't a rank insignia (for one, the eagle is facing the wrong way)

In the end it wouldn't be the least surprising that a mangaka misses the forest for the trees when it comes to showcasing any military servicemember, but in this case it looks like he had some specific model in mind considering he used US Forces Japan in particular and to get the rank wrong seems funny when most always just throw around top rank names willy nilly...

Update on this. I guess the author made a mistake. The JP script mention 大佐 which means "colonel" (double checked on dictionary). Nice find, I will put this in vol 23 extras credit page.
