I'll be real. With the war going on with Russia and Ukraine right now I can't help myself from laughing whenever I read something talking about "Russian military superiority"
I find it funny how "muh russia strong" comes from Japanese authors that should know how russo-japanese war went.

Japanese view of the Russo-Japanese war is very different from the Western view. You can see a bit of it in Golden Kamuy. Basically, the militarists saw the Russo-Japanese campaign as a political defeat because the imperial government signed a disagreeable (to them) treaty at the end of it that in effect ceded worthless Russian territory to Japan in exchange for Japan stopping their expansion north, while the politicians viewed it as a dangerous military overextension that severely weakened Japan because of the manpower losses of the war. In 1905 the Russian Empire had 127 million people while the Japanese Empire had 48 million. If you look at the losses of both sides, there is a less than 10% advantage on the Japanese side. The war was costing Japan nearly three times more casualties by percentage of population than it did the Russians. The Japanese government quickly ended the war because they feared a mobilization of the core Russian armies west of the Caucasus that they couldn't possibly have fought off in 1905. This is how the Russo-Japanese War is actually taught in Japan today.

Then you add in Zhukov steamrolling them in WW2 and you can see why Japan's view of Russian military might would be very different from yours.

I don't understand where are you trying to get with this blabbing. Yes, China is wearing the pants in BRICS but what does it have to do with ukies eating landmines and losing every every wunderwaffe? Let's leave it at that.

the fact that russia struggles against ukraine is there for everyone to see. china see this and take the chance. hence even the manga show it because it's obvious to everyone at them time china rise as the region dominant power, not russia. now after ukraine war, it's even more clear than ever.
