In any case Shen is likely to come back again soon partly because Qiao is an exceptional cook, and partly just because he finally has something to tease Yan Ju with. Although it seems odd people from the capital are looking for her. Maybe one or both of her parents were people of high interest hiding or something. Seems unlikely they would think she's the one who killed everybody in the house as all the wounds were with a sword directly including strong and experienced swordsmen and guards. With her build she'd only be able to do all that with ambushes not a frontal charge. Although how do they know about her anyway? I thought around that time period very low ranked servants in a house would only be well known in the house partly to avoid another house luring a good servant away or a conflict of interest developing, and mainly to avoid causing a fuss if put a servant to death for a whim, perceived/real crime or insult? Either there's something about her background she's unaware of or the capital people are hoping she has some information about either her former workplace or the assassin who killed everybody else. Otherwise they'd have left it to the local authorities to deal with.

I really appreciate the translator's notes. I like how they translate in a way that we won't miss the puns and other jokes. With some groups we miss out on the humor, and the jokes are literally lost in translation. So yeah, I appreciate the translation, the notes comparing the literal translation, and the meaning behind some of the sayings.

@unime She was the only one that went missing, that is her body was never found. As such, they believe that she was the one that assassinated the household(as ridiculous as it is) or she was involved in some other way(such as providing a way in for the assassin). As for why they knew she was even a part of the household to begin with, there were likely records there that listed all the employees, and neighbors would be able to give a description of her when asked who she was.
