This is the kind of quality of writing and plot setup I'd expect out of a hentai. The lazy timeskip didn't do any good for characterizing him, or her for that matter, and their introductions were also glossed over in the author's rush to make it a SoL romcom.

My thoughts exactly. The sharp look of her face is cute, she's looks older and mature, she's tall, and she has good reactions to create a gap moe with her normal unyielding and no-nonsense attitude. She could make a cool FMC for a fantasy LN, just needs a little more time in the oven to make her a character instead of an archetype.
The MC on the other hand is as insipid as any other overly emotional protag.

Why are they coming out of the woodworks here and now, anyway? If I was offended by ecchi, I wouldn't go out of my way to seek out an obviously ecchi manga, complain that it contains ecchi, then keep reading for three chapters and complain about the ecchi in the comment section of each chapter.

For anyone else reading this, if the title, cover image and synopsis haven't given it away for you, you should have realized within the first half of the first chapter that this is a slice of life ecchi romcom series. If you don't like it, why not just move on? Surely you've got better things to do with your time?

As for those who can't give the MC a break for doing things he believed to be a dream... If you really think actions taken during a dream define what kind of person someone really is, then all of you should be on some kind of watchlist. Because I guarantee you, everyone has done things a lot worse than groping some boobs without consent in at least one dream, whether they remember or not. But somehow you haven't commited a crime yet. Or so I would hope.

While there would have been a lot of better ways to go about it, the groping part was pretty obviously just a device to achieve two things:
1. to have the MC get stabbed by the sword, so it could be absorbed by him.
2. to have the main characters start out on a bad note, so that the female lead will feel humiliated and (according to her archetype) say "Ugh...! Kill me...!", whenever they get into ecchi situations. She is a kukkoro, after all, if you didn't catch that from the title - a stereotype of a female knight who utters "K-kill me...!" when humiliated.

He's just in full-on mode to make Rei appear as the scummiest man on earth . He'll never agree that Rei immediately stopped when he felt it wasn't a dream instead of going "Uoohhhh, it's not a dream, so it's real, I'm lucky, I'm gonna r*pe this tied-up woman all night now."

What I'm saying is: he's not a scumbag. He wouldn't have done that if he had known it was real. In an ideal world, he shouldn't get off scot free for what he did. But neither does he deserve the death penalty, even if he had done what he did with malicious intent.
Heck, Maru-san tried to kill him. Even if he's unharmed, he now has to live with an obviously evil sword inside of him. Some would already consider that a punishment.

This is a slice of life ecchi romcom. You know he's not going to suffer for this, at least not in the way you want him to. The worst he'll have to endure will be on the level of girls slapping him for their own misunderstandings, accidents or things the sword will make him do without his consent. You're seriously lying to youself if that's what you're here for. He'll be living in ecchi hell or harem hell, not torture hell.

If you're hate-reading the manga, I won't stop you, but why ruin the experience for everyone else? This series will probably be mediocre at best, let people enjoy whatever enjoyment they can get out of it. You're just being antagonistic for the sake of being antagonistic. And saying how you want a fictional character that doesn't exist in real life and has not harmed any real person, much less you personally, to suffer - in a romcom - makes you come across as a hateful and much worse person than the Rei existing in your mind.

Yeah, I know. I already regret leaving a comment, but I can't make sense of it. There are tons of works of fiction, not just manga, out there that are a lot more degenerate. But they don't get comments from outraged puritans and tourists, at least not that I know of. Why this one? What's so special about it? So far this is as run-of-the-mill as it gets. What drew them here? This is by far not the only slice of life series about a female knight having to life in modern Japan. I'd be more willing to believe these guys have a crush on Maru-san and hate Rei out of jealousy... How dare the protagonist touch their waifu inappropriately. It should've been them, not him.

At first, I thought it was one of those quirky ideas with a fluffy background. But damn, I didn't expect the MC to go all touchy touchy boobs full mast. Honestly, it feels abrupt in how it turned into a wifey slice of life. With how it started, it definitely could've gone a more 'exciting' way; and the usual excess of fluff mangas have gotten a bit stale.

—That's my 2 cents for this manga. Maybe someone might agree with this and find a similar manga, and get it uploaded. For now, if I'm unsatisfied, I can always write it myself.

This doesn't bode well for the quality of the writing. The author was unable to write a chapter with the action, instead opted to show the reader the resolution, with the MC recalling what happened. A mini-time-skip to avoid the hard parts of storytelling, if you will.

I know one shouldn't ask much from these kind of mangas, but it's still a shame.

If the writer had any talent, they wouldn't be doing another typical “10/10 Hot girl for X reason must live with an average person, so she will end up falling in love with him eventually”.
The author may be a good artist, but s/he may need a writer to help them do better works.
