MtL translator got pissy that the original TL got caught up is what I’m guessing. But… it takes time to properly translate, typeset, redraw etc., and if it’s just one guy of course he isn’t gonna be able to upload them all right as they release

Then again, you just can't ruin the foundation which is the characterization of the original characters. Changing them just to make the fanfic's self-insert MC look perfect in every conceivable way is also kind of an insult. There needs to be balance.

I absolutely agree. Self-inserts are fine as long as they don’t disregard everything else the original author did.
