Yet another series where the mc is a literal slave owner. Japan needs to have a talk with itself.

@Hell_Satan You mostly see slaves in fantasy/isekai manga that rarely possess a Japanese looking setting. If a mangaka/novel author knows enough to create a pseudo-European looking setting, they know enough to realise the history of slavery in the wider world as well. Besides, no matter where in the world, a slave's position was still the absolute bottom a person can fall to. In the past a human life was exceedingly cheap and living was hard for all but the minority belonging to the elite, but a slave didn't have even the few rights a free person would have otherwise had.

The obsession with slaves just reflects feelings of (racial) superiority, lacking understanding of the basic human psychology, immature sexuality, chuunibyouism, and naive longing for the lost Japanese East Asian empire prior to the WW2.

@Kaarme True but the Japanese education system does';t teach much about the horror of slavery its more like a footnote in their education while in other countries its practically indoctrination even in my country the topic of slavery is not touch upon very much heck its not even though in school when I was studying so I have less repulse reading this kinda things that is the difference in culture and education just look at the Middle east https://www.redressonline.com/2013/10/the-migrant-slave-workers-of-the-arab-world/ my country already banned the sending of overseas working to Kuwait due to another overseas worker dying there due to abuse by their employer, not depending slavery here just stating the fact that the difference in how slavery is though in education affect how the people in a certain society view the matter.

I guess if I had a slave like that, I'd keep her gagged too.

@Amarrez - to a typical Japanese person, slavery is a sexy fantasy fetish stuff like female knights and elves, far divorced from reality.

I mean, most of them can portray how horrible it is to be a slave under "bad guys", they understand this much... But there is this really bizarre disconnect where they seem to think slavery isn't that bad in itself but the problem is bad people owning slaves, at least this is how they consistently portray it in all of these stories. It's some mindbendingly twisted logic when you think about it.

Moralizing aside, this looks like it might be a fun read. Especially since it seems to be playing it for laughs more than anything.

Just what is it with Japan and slavery
Because usually it's more of a medieval fantasy style, and like it or not, while it's existed in quite a few different forms (admittedly America's slavery was by far one of if not THE the absolute worst forms of it as it took all of the worst aspects from other types and put them together), slavery's been prevalent for pretty much all of human history. Hell, even now it still technically is a thing, even if it might not be called that directly anymore.
